Sculpture, screen print, digital and mixed media installation form the basis of Lesley’s work. Moreover, collaboration is at the heart of her practice. As an active member of Artist run collectives for many years, Lesley engages with various agencies, exhibiting regularly. Alongside this, as founder and Chair of GOSSIP Collective, she organise projects, exhibitions and events in the Forth Valley area, and across the Central belt, to facilitate opportunities with like-minded contemporary artists, seeking out spaces in a variety of forums that benefit all involved.
The project as described by Lesley: ‘I believe that creativity is vital for living through difficulty, benefiting communities, with regard and care for each other, and local environments. With this project in Fallin, it is envisaged that the outcomes will be the result of creative responses and engagement of residents with their local places, to make models that explore possibilities for creating outdoor sculpture. It is hoped that ideas for future developments will include seating within a public area, a ‘garden’ or other beneficial public interactive, installation within the spaces. The project aims to connect and nurture relationships locally, respecting, caring for and engaging with the local area in relation to their past and present, in a variety of ways.’
