Janie lives in Bridge of Allan. Originally from the west coast she has lived in Stirlingshire for over 20 years. A period of time living abroad  inspired a love of photography and when living in Romania she was a founder member of a community fundraising group, using photography to support non-governmental organisations. Returning to Stirling she established Picture the Possible, a social enterprise company working to help others realise their dreams. 

Using photography as a medium, Picture the Possible work with groups and individuals teaching new skills and creating opportunities to inspire and to succeed. Janie is a freelance consultant and creative director at Stirling Photography Festival. 

Frankie Burr is an artist with a social practice working in rural, remote and coastal areas of the UK. Her most recent work comes to exist via performance, promenade, conversation and research, using installation, sculpture, film, sound and craft to express and show the discoveries she is making while working with stories, her / histories and words that are shared with the other artists and communities she is collaborating with. Having studied art in Italy, Cornwall, Edinburgh and most recently with the University of Highlands and Islands, she aims to create evocative, thinking or talking spaces which sit somewhere between the private and the public, mirroring the processes that are used in the researching and making of the work to express and interpret the emotions of all those who have participated in its production.

Her work has been made in a WW2 prison of war camp, a boatshed and a disused police station and prison cell. She is currently walking across Scotland making work in and with the communities she is passing through. 

Over the past ten years her storytelling has taken her on a fabulous journey, she has woven words about poisons for Chelsea Physic Garden in London, taken Scottish folklore and regional plant use and legends to the National Museum of Rural Life and the Ashmolean museum in Oxford and shared secrets from eighteenth century herbals in stories at the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons in Glasgow. 

One of her projects the Kist in Thyme has spanned over 5 years and has brought together local Stirlingshire reminiscence and archive resources and developed them into sessions which she then shared to create plant-based art works with local schools. Her work has a wide range of inspirations and starting points but always focuses on weaving together facts, folklore, traditional tales, history and herbal remedies using storytelling techniques to create a rich multi-sensory tapestry which audiences have described as being like ‘an enchanting and dynamic glimpse into a magical garden'. 

Roberta is a Jewellery Designer-Maker, who strongly believes in the power of art for therapeutic purposes. She enjoys planning and delivering creative workshops, aiming to improve people’s general wellbeing and mental health.

Her brand is called Quinta Essenza, and she designs and realises contemporary jewellery where Scottish landscape inspiration and Italian style merge together. While still studying, she won a Commended Award in Fashion Jewellery (QVC Special Award) by The Goldsmiths’ Craft and Design Council (GC&DC) known as the Oscar of the Jewellery Industry. Following a commission of medals by Perth Cathedral, she recently entered a medal called “Look after the Land” to the GC&DC’s competition, winning a Bronze Award. Her work has been selected to support Perth’s successful bid to become the UK’s first UNESCO City of Crafts and Folk Art. Roberta has exhibited in several museums and galleries in the UK and abroad.

Peter Yates is a professional artist who lives and works in the local community.

He has exhibited his work both in the UK and abroad. In recent times, Peter was commissioned to design and paint a mural in the new Doune Medical Centre.

His next solo exhibition will take place in Edinburgh in the summer of 2023.
