Stirling 900
Community Banner Call
Celebrating 900 Banners
To celebrate Stirling's 900th anniversary, we’re inviting local schools, community groups, artists, and residents to come together and create unique textile banners that capture the spirit of Stirling.
These banners will be part of a vibrant community art installation across Stirling, reflecting our rich history, creativity, and commitment to sustainability.
Project Overview: We’re looking for your creativity! Each participant (individuals or groups) will design a triangular or circular element to be included in a series of large-scale textile banners, using sustainable, recycled, or repurposed fabric. The banners will be displayed around the city to honour this milestone and celebrate Stirling’s heritage, community, and environmental values.
At the start of January we will send the 900 Community Banner Brief which will give you hints and tips around how to create the elements of the main banners, which will be brought together by a team of artists.
Lead Artist, Audrey McMenemy will hosting two engagement sessions in January for anyone looking for guidance, inspiration, or simply a fun creative space to work on their banners. A link to book these sessions will be shared in the brief.
