The Project
Type of funding: Micro Grant (up to £500)
Julie’s goal through the Micro Grant was to be able to produce high quality prints of her Food Heroes series of photographs, to be exhibited in the Tolbooth in Stirling. The exhibition will be open at the Tolbooth from the 28th of April to the 15th of May 2021. Viewing slots can be booked here.
Julie’s ultimate aim is to encourage others within Stirlingshire to eschew foods with high carbon foodprints which do not benefit us as a community in favour of supporting our own suppliers and economy. She wants to use her creativity to encourage wider discussion and awareness of food production, food security, the impact our food choices have on our health and environment. Photography can be harnessed for positive social changes.
Some of Julie’s pieces that will be featured in the exhibition are below.
