Microgrants Opportunities
If none of the Commission or Residency opportunities apply to your needs and circumstances, then we are keen to ensure that there are still opportunities to support Stirling's creative communities in other ways. Place Partnership should be considered a funding of last resort, so please consider what other funding is available such as Creative Scotland open funds and awards for all. Your project must support Place Partnership objectives and will be assessed accordingly.
We will run two open project funding schemes as noted below. This is to ensure flexibility so that artists can get resources quickly if needed and to also encourage collaboration and partnership with larger projects and proposals.
How to apply
The Microgrants are aiming to address the impact of COVID-19 on the ability of artists in Stirling to continue their practice. These grants are planned to be quickly administered to be truly responsive.
We will have an ongoing and rolling programme (till March 2021) of microgrants and a defined application deadline of open grants.
1. COVID-19 Microgrants will be for projects of £500 or under with a minimum of 6 grants available
2. Open Grant Projects will be for £500 to £2,500 (with deadlines November)
Your project will need to clearly address one or more of the following aims:
Position, mobilise and enable our creative communities to achieve positive change.
Establish a sustainable infrastructure to support and bring together our creative communities within rural and city areas.
Develop pathways for growth and [creative] business development
You will need to ensure that you have checked for any other relevant funding avenues before applying, we may be able to help you take and idea and match it to one of the defined commission opportunities or match you to other artists and creatives in your area, or one of the partners. Please do discuss with us before applying.
Microgrant Criteria
We are seeking proposals from any professional living, working in and/or with knowledge of Stirling who can support us to achieve our programme ambitions, work with our Place partners, individual artists and creatives to build our creative communities, professional pathways and growth of our sector and supporting sustainable infrastructure in our city and rural areas.
You will demonstrate:
Experience, knowledge and skills in your area of practice
Knowledge and experience to deliver the activity you are proposing to develop and deliver
Vision, ambition and aspiration for supporting Stirling's cultural offer
Clearly articulated proposal, well costed with sustainability considered
Considered approach to collaboration, partnership working and match funding (including in-kind)
