COORIE IN FOR SPECIALLY CURATED AUDIO EXPERIENCE
As winter approaches, Stirling’s Covid memorial project Remembering Together is inviting people to “coorie in” and enjoy a specially curated immersive audio experience in Callander.
The unique event, featuring a sound piece created in collaboration with local people from across West Stirlingshire, will take place at St Andrews Scottish Episcopal Church on Wednesday 13 December.
A cosy space will be set up in the church, complete with blankets and hot chocolate, where attendees can unwind and listen to a seasonal-themed piece created by artist Saffy Setohy and composer/sound designer Jamie McCarthy.
Tickets are free of charge and can be booked for 2pm, 4pm or 6pm; with each session lasting an hour.
Saffy said: "Our aim with our 'Winter Coorie' is to create a space to relax and reflect amidst the hustle and bustle of the winter season.
“This immersive experience is a collective endeavor, blending the unique contributions of local people into a soothing audio piece that invites everyone to take a moment and find solace in the beauty of winter, nature and human connection.
“Special thanks go to Stirling Council Libraries, Callander Youth Project and Walk in the Park for their help with the project.”
The ‘Winter Coorie’ event also aims to involve people who can’t make it along on the day. Saffy explained: ““We're distributing 150 creative packs designed by Callander-based artist Orla Stevens through the rural library bus network.
“Our hope is that local people will engage with these packs, create their own winter landscape pieces, and display them in their windows, supporting creativity to ripple out through the community.
“The sound piece will also be broadcast live on Scene Stirling’s social channels on the day.”
