Ramy El-Bergamy has worked in the television industry for 15 years. He is the former Head of Development at STV where he worked up ideas and treatments for broadcasters both nationally and internationally. Previous to that, he was the Commissioning Executive in Daytime at Channel 4 where he looked after some of the channel's biggest brands such as A Place in the Sun and Four in a Bed. He also took pitches for new formats and ideas from companies and producers all over the UK that could work in the space. Prior to this, he was the On Screen Diversity Executive at Channel 4. His focus was on delivering on the commitments in Channel 4’s 360˚ Diversity Charter where he worked in partnership with Commissioning at C4, the independent sector and talent to ensure the best people were seen on-screen from the widest possible pool. He also oversaw Channel 4’s Onscreen Year of Disability, helping double disabled representation in over 20 of Channel 4’s biggest shows.

Prior to joining Channel 4, Ramy worked in the independent sector for 10 years. He has experience working across a broad range of programmes and genres, and most recent credits of his time in the sector include hit shows such as Big Brother and The Voice.
