welcome to scenestirling
We are delighted to announce the next phase in the delivery of Stirling’s Place Partnership Project, SceneStirling.
SceneStirling will be managed on behalf of the Place Partners by Artlink Central. The first meeting of partners has taken place and Artlink Central have presented an approach to taking forward Stirling’s Place Partnership programme which included:
Strand A – Structure
Building an agreed strong, clear and transparent structure for cultural partners and the project to work from. This will link Scene Stirling and the Place Partners to future cultural strategy development.
Strand B – Commissioning Artists
Creating a range of targeted and open funding opportunities for Stirling’s creatives and organisations to action the priorities of place partnership. This aims to include: residency projects, place focused commissioning and micro-grants to offer more responsive small funds to enable artists to deliver for the place partnership.
Strand C – Pathways and Creative Economy
Developing a programme of professional development for our cultural and creative sector that builds on existing expertise and experience offering capacity building and strengthening local artists’ ability to deliver on more ambitious and high quality commissions and projects now and in the future.
Strand D – Communities
Ensuring Place Partnership opportunities reach our communities more effectively, taking a neighbourhood and community building approach. This builds on the work developed in the city centre by Creative Stirling in Year One with formation of 44 King’s Street as a cultural hub, as well as work with other cultural neighbourhoods such as Dunblane’s creative community. We will work for nine months in targeted communities with artists, venues, organisations, businesses and residents to grow cultural access and opportunities. The first area to be targeted is the Eastern side of Stirling including Bannockburn, Cowie, Fallin and Plean.
Strand E - Visibility
Working with Stirling PR we will use SceneStirling as a platform to share our progress, and to make more visible the richness and diversity of Stirling’s arts and cultural offer to encourage more collaboration and ambition for Stirling, to celebrate our combined achievements and to connect us all.
More information will be published on the programme as it evolves and is adapted following the significant impact of Covid-19 on planned project delivery.
