NEW ROUND OF GRANTS TO BOOST CREATIVITY

Previously funded projects include Gossip Collective’s sculpture and textile exhibition at Bannockburn House. Installation by Audrey McMenemy.

Scene Stirling has announced its first round of arts grants for 2022, with local artists and creatives invited to apply by Wednesday 22 June.

Four grants of up to £500 are available for sustainable arts projects that foster creativity, bring creative communities across Stirling together and support the local creative economy.

Kevin Harrison, Manager of Scene Stirling – which represents the city’s arts, cultural and heritage partners – said: “This round of micro grants is not themed, giving local artists and creatives the freedom to apply for funding for any project so long as it supports our aim to help arts and culture in Stirling thrive.

“We’re looking to support projects that help establish a sustainable creative infrastructure in our rural and urban communities, sparking new creative collaborations and enabling our creative businesses and communities to flourish.”

Previous micro grant funded projects include a sculpture and textile exhibition at Bannockburn House, a local food heroes photography showcase at the Tolbooth, a community ceramic studio and a short film promoting local musicians.

A second round of grants is expected to be launched in August 2022.
