NEw GENERATION of ARTISTS take ON THE TRANSITIONAL
Stirling’s new generation of artists have come together to exhibit work they created during and shortly after the pandemic.
Kris Middleton, Jacqueline Scorgie (Jacque), Tracy Angel Straiton and Tina Minal - a cohort of art and design graduates from the University of Stirling and Forth Valley College - are putting on their first joint exhibition since qualifying.
“The exhibition is entitled Transitional to reflect the changes and differences we have gone through since graduating during the pandemic and our diverse styles of expression.
“Kris is an illustrator, Tracy is a photographer and videographer, Tina creates installations using a variety of media and my main interest is ceramics.
“It’s great to be finally getting the chance to showcase the work we produced.
“Art is meant to have a physical presence and be interacted with in the real world - not limited to the digital world we’ve experienced the past 2 years.”
COLLABORATION
Illustrator Kris, gave an insight to his practice ahead of the exhibition:
“I’m primarily an illustrator who can adapt to a wide variety of art styles, from child-friendly cartoons to detailed horror illustration.
“While illustration is my main focus, I’m wary of becoming stagnant and I’m always reaching for new material, medium or technique to keep my creative motor running.”
