Dancer Parsifal James Hurst in front of the Bruce Monument

Telling Bannockburn’s history through contemporary dance with Parsifal James Hurst.

Bannockburn and East Stirling’s Creative Network, Vantage Points, will be taking part in this Saturday’s Exploring Bannockburn: Children’s Fayre at Bannockburn House.

Shakespeare’s Kids Theatre School will tell the history of the battle through dance.

As well as a host of fun activities, including House tours, visitors will be able to watch a live performance by Shakespeare’s Kids Theatre School and artist Parsifal James Hurst exploring the history of the Battle of Bannockburn through contemporary dance.

Parsifal will also delve into the history of Bannockburn House through dance.

Scene Stirling supports the work of the Vantage Points network.

Manager Kevin Harrison said: “Parsifal has been working with over 40 young performers to create a live performance adaptation of his contemporary dance piece, originally developed during the early stages of the Vantage Points project.

“We’ll also be joined by artist Carolyn Fraser who’ll lead creative drop-in workshops throughout the day to create a large-scale fabric participatory piece that will then be exhibited at Bannockburn House.”

Bannockburn House Children’s Fayre is part of series of events taking place this weekend to mark the Battle of Bannockburn.

Saturday’s event will run from 11 am to 4 pm and is free to attend, but tickets must be booked in advance here
